RCO Programming

SUD (substance use disorder) recovery typically involves a comprehensive approach that includes various activities and strategies to support individuals in their journey towards recovery. Here are some activities we are proud to offer at our RCO location at Jordan's Crossing:

1. Support Groups: Joining support groups such as Narcotics Anonymous (NA) or SMART Recovery can provide a supportive community of individuals who understand the challenges of addiction. These groups offer a safe space to share experiences, gain insights, and receive encouragement from peers.

2. Referrals to therapy/counseling: Engaging in individual counseling or therapy sessions, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) or dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), can help address underlying issues contributing to addiction, develop coping strategies, and promote long-term recovery.

3. Linkage to Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT): MAT combines medications, such as methadone, buprenorphine, or naltrexone, with counseling and behavioral therapies. This approach can help manage withdrawal symptoms, reduce cravings, and support the recovery process.

4. Physical Exercise: Regular physical exercise has numerous benefits for overall well-being and can aid in addiction recovery. Exercise helps reduce stress, boost mood, promote better sleep, and restore physical health, which can be negatively impacted by addiction.

5. Holistic Practices: Engaging in holistic activities like yoga, meditation, mindfulness practices, and deep breathing exercises can be beneficial for managing stress, promoting relaxation, and improving emotional well-being.

6. Healthy Hobbies: Engaging in activities that bring joy and fulfillment can help replace unhealthy behaviors associated with addiction. Pursue hobbies such as art, music, writing, gardening, or any other creative outlets that provide a sense of purpose and accomplishment.

7. Education and Skill Development: Expanding knowledge and acquiring new skills can support personal growth and provide a foundation for a healthy, drug-free lifestyle. Take up educational courses, vocational training, or participate in workshops related to areas of interest.

8. Healthy Relationships and Supportive Networks: Surrounding oneself with positive influences and supportive individuals who understand and respect the recovery process is crucial. Strengthen healthy relationships and avoid people, places, and situations that may trigger relapse.

9. Self-Care: Prioritizing self-care activities is essential for maintaining overall well-being during recovery. Practice good sleep hygiene, maintain a balanced diet, engage in activities that promote relaxation, and make time for self-reflection and personal growth.

10. Continued Aftercare: Recovery is an ongoing process, and aftercare is crucial to maintaining long-term sobriety. Attend regular follow-up appointments, continue therapy or counseling, and stay connected with support groups to prevent relapse and receive ongoing support.

Remember, each individual's recovery journey is unique, and it's important to work closely to develop a personalized plan that meets your specific needs and goals.
